Brienne of Tarth’s Story

We brought sweet Brienne into our vet’s office in July 2026 when she was trapped by another rescuer in the area who found out that she was left behind when her family moved out of town. As she was found on Knight Arnold Road, we wanted to give her a Knightly name. And with her light hair and kind demeanor, who better to name her after than our favorite lady knight, Brienne of Tarth! 

Brienne is currently decompressing at our vet’s office, but has been incredibly sweet to everyone she has interacted with. She has a lot of skin issues that we unfortunately think are mostly from dog bites, but she is getting medicated baths and we are hoping they will heal up soon. Once Brienne is a little more healed physically and emotionally, she will be looking for a foster home. Could you be the landing spot for this sweet girl? Welcome to the pack, Brienne!

Loki’s Story

July 2026 Update:

Loki completed a wonderful training camp where he learned a ton, but he has been stuck in boarding for a long time. Long-term boarding is incredibly tough on dogs, and we are desperate to get this sweet boy into a real home. Loki needs out now!

Here is everything you need to know about him in a nutshell:

The absolute best parts: He is a total social butterfly who loves all people and kids! He previously lived in a home with children, knows his basic commands, and walks beautifully on a leash.

Energy Level: Very, very active! He needs a foster family ready to give him plenty of exercise.

Home Type: Flexible! Apartment living is completely fine, as long as he gets his daily outdoor exercise!

Other Dogs: He can be dog-friendly on a case-by-case basis. Because he can sometimes play like a “bully,” he needs a laid-back dog sibling who won’t challenge his play style.

Health: 100% healthy with no medical issues!

Loki is a one-year-old, loving, people-friendly boy who adores adults and kids alike. He’s affectionate, social, and enjoys being part of family life.

Christopher is a certified sweetheart and basically just a big puppy. He’s a silly, goofy buddy who loves to scratching his back on the grass and going on walks. He's dog-friendly and looking for his forever home. Christopher is a loyal boy who needs multiple people in his home since he can get possessive over his human.

September 9, 2023:

Sadly, I have been down and out for a while, but my rescue story began two weeks ago. It was a blistering day with temperatures of over 100 degrees – a horrible heat for everyone, especially for those left outside. I was a dehydrated and exhausted homeless boy, so flea-ridden that the hair on the back half of my right hip was gone, and now red and bleeding from my scratching and licking and so sore from sunburn.

I had wandered aimlessly for days on end, looking for food, water, shelter, and just someone to speak kindly to me. I crawled under a truck at a house for relief from the scalding pavement. Unfortunately, the people living there didn’t want me there at all. They would not talk to me at all; they just called the shelter to come get me, but all I wanted was a bowl of water. Time just kept passing, and I kept getting weaker and weaker.

Over 27 hours later, with no food or water, I was giving up hope. Unbeknownst to me, the Streetdog crew heard about my situation and headed straight out to find me! Could someone really want to help me?!

A kind-eyed man with a gentle voice arrived where I was lying, crawled right under the truck to calm me, and let me know he was there to save me. He first offered me a gesture that anyone can do for us homeless pups out there; he offered me a clean, cool bowl of water!

I was so surprised at his goodness that I put my total trust in him. He told me that I would be okay and would not have to be alone again. I knew that he was full of love for me – I could feel it coming from his very soul.

He took me to the emergency vet, where they kept me under observation and fully hydrated me after going so long without anything to drink. Two days later, I transferred to Grace Animal Hospital, where the Docs and staff made sure that I was comfy and had everything I needed.

My hip wound is healing, and I am fully hydrated and eating well now, but dogs like me with no protection out there usually have heartworms, so I am currently being treated for that and gaining my strength back.

The Streetdog Family had recently lost one of their own precious friends and was celebrating his life 27 hours after my rescue on the 27th day of August. They wanted to honor his memory by passing his name to me. So, I am proud to bear the memory of Christopher Morris Burnham with love! Signed with hope and a new life.

Lil's Story

In January 2020, Streetdog received word that Lil and her twinky Phil were dumped in a cove in Memphis. A boy in the neighborhood saw these two pups get pushed out of a vehicle before it drove away, leaving them behind. While some neighbors in the area were doing what they could to feed them and create makeshift shelter, they were still very underweight and needed safety & nourishment. Streetdog scooped up this dynamic duo, so those days are behind them!

Lil is super friendly and LOVES treats, sweaters, sunbathing outside, and walks! She would thrive in a home with a yard. If your home has children, Lil does best with older children. She is dog-selective and loves a good routine. She is a beautiful blend of sweet and cuddly and lots of energy! Could you be this lovable girl’s forever home?

Matcha’s Story

Matcha update!

Our sweet boy has been in training for the past month, and we’re so proud of the progress he’s made!

Matcha is a sensitive, thoughtful guy who thrives with structure and calm leadership. He feels things deeply and does best in an environment that’s steady and predictable. When he has that, he settles beautifully.

His ideal foster home would be:

• routine-based

• calm (not chaotic or high-energy)

• either a stable, older dog with chill energy or as a single dog

He’s been integrating well with the other pups at camp and is learning to gain confidence!

Some of you may remember Matcha from our #sdfCoffeeHousePups litter! He was adopted as a puppy, but unfortunately it didn’t work out and he’s back with us again and is now on the search for a new foster or adoptive home where he can truly thrive.

Matcha is around 2 yrs old and 70lbs. He is crate-trained, potty-trained, and knows how to sit, shake, and lay down! While he’s great with adults and decent around other dogs, he is not a fan of kids or cats.

Marley Mae’s Story

February 2025 Update: Marley Mae is deaf and blind and is a very independent girl who likes to do her own thing. Her favorite thing is sunbathing! She does fine with other dogs, but mostly likes to chill by herself.

Hi I'm Marley Mae - I've been a Streetdog since I was a little puppy back in 2013 when I wandered up onto a random porch. I was born around January 2013, and I've been with a lady for several years, but the adoption didn't work out. Now I'm back with my Streetdog friends looking for the perfect forever home for me.

I'm an Australian Shepherd - Cattle Dog mix, full of love and so much companionship left to give. I love to meet new people. I have a favorite pillow and love soft plushy toys I can chew on. I like to spend time outside in the sunshine too.
