Sharon Kringle’s Story
Update!! Momma Sharon has given birth to a beautiful litter of #SDFChristmasCookiePups! More details to come!
It started with a call about a stray dog spotted near a pallet yard off 3rd Street. What unfolded next was a journey full of twists, turns, and heartwarming moments that led to not just one rescue—but two.
When our volunteers arrived at the location, a few helpful locals pointed them in the direction of a neighborhood across Lucy Street. Almost immediately, they spotted a friendly brown dog hanging out near a couple of people, but the group explained he was “just a streetdog.” As the search continued for the original pup, another discovery stopped the team in their tracks: a sweet white pittie curled up in the gutter.
With a little patience and teamwork, both dogs came running when they saw the rescuers. After speaking with neighbors who had been feeding them, it became clear: these pups were in need of help. One kind woman even thanked the team through tears, saying she’d done her best to care for the white pittie, but was relieved they could step in—especially with momma dog being pregnant.
Now safely in Streetdog Foundation’s care, these sweet pups have been given very special names: Kris and Sharon, in honor of the owners of The Warehouse and hosts of the Howl at the Moon fundraiser for the past 12 years. The names are a fitting tribute to two incredible people who have supported Streetdog Foundation’s mission year after year.
Here’s what the team has learned about them so far:
Sharon (White Dog)
• Female, about 1 year old
• Pregnant, ultrasound showed a large litter!
• Gentle, affectionate, and even gives the sweetest little smiles
Kris (Brown Dog)
• Male, under 1 year old
• Covered in bite scars, missing a toe on his front left paw
• Sweet as can be with a goofy personality that’s sure to make everyone laugh
Thanks to the support of the Streetdog community, Kris and Sharon are now safe, loved, and on the road to recovery. Stay tuned for updates on their journey—and if you’d like to help care for them (and the puppies!), please consider fostering, adopting, or donating today.
