Hedy Lamar’s Story

Mama is expecting, and she is safely in our care with her new stuffy friend. 

We named her after the iconic Golden Age actress for the street she was found (Lamar Ave), and her stunning, black coat. The real Hedy Lamarr wasn’t just a gorgeous movie star; she was a brilliant inventor who helped develop the technology that paved the way for modern Wi-Fi. 

 Our Hedy is just as resilient, incredibly smart, and has a beautiful mind to match her beautiful looks. We can’t wait to see all the Golden Age movie star names our volunteer queen who named Miss Hedy comes up with for all the new pups! 

Because sweet Hedy is pregnant, we cannot begin her treatment until after she safely delivers her babies. Right now, her absolute best medicine is a stress-free environment. We are putting out an urgent plea for a foster home where Hedy can decompress and bring her puppies into the world in a quiet, safe, and comfortable space.
